COFFEE
The plant of coffee is an evergreen that can reach up to 10 meters in height
and it is commonly spread in all tropical regions. What it is usually called
coffee bean are the two seeds inside the plant’s fruit, a red cherry.
These seed are accurately separated from the cherry right where the
picking has taken place by means of a procedure called “dry procedure”
or by water.
The main species are the Arabica and the Robusta. The first is an
aromatic and rich species whit a percentage in caffeine o about 1%
and it is mainly cultivated in mountainous areas between 800 and
2000 meters while the Robusta grows between 500 and 600 meters
above sea level and has a caffeine percentage of about 2%.
The coffees that Oro Caffè uses for its blends are washed and
selected and have a weight sieve standing between a minimum of
17 and a maximum of 19 mainly from the Arabica family. |
